Our photographer said, “Driving to the property: Highway driving on 60 and 61 was uneventful. I turned left on Stanford Drive. The pavement turns into hard packed dirt and rock. I turned left on Nassau Ave/8278 and then right on 8279. I passed a “No outlet” sign. The road was easy going and a car would have no trouble getting to the property, but continuing past the property on this road would prove quite difficult as it goes into large, loose rock. As the property is marked, it is easy going to get to it.
Traveling to the corners: I followed the GPS coordinates using Google maps, which took me along 8279 for two of the four points. The property is flat and backs up to a rocky hill. The terrain is a mix of soft dirt, some grasses, and juniper trees. There are two neighbors adjacent to the property, and propane tanks were noted at both properties. There is power service in the neighborhood, and it is likely that Larson trash can service this location. The neighborhood also has several wells set up to fill up cisterns. Cell reception was consistently 1-2 bars and 4G (Verizon). Although I had 1-2 bars, I had to leave the property to re-download an offline map for the vicinity and then return to the property to continue working.
Overall impression of the property: The property is easy to drive to and is overall flat for ~80% of the space, making it fairly easy to build on. The neighbor across the street, stated he has been at his house for over 20 years. He remarked that “all the water runs off this property and down the hill”, so runoff management may need to be a key consideration when building a single family dwelling. It is a reasonable drive to a nearby general store and nearby Show Low has an abundance of shopping and restaurants.”
